A fun filled Victorian Era Christmas!

This event celebrates author Charles Dickens and the era he wrote about.  One of the biggest distinctions accredited to Mr. Dickens is that he created the modern day celebrations of Christmas with his second novel, A Christmas Carol.

Legend has it that Queen Victoria fell so in love with this story that she began insisting the customs described in the book be made manifest in the palace for the royal family.  She was most emphatic that there be a lighted Christmas tree with gifts for her eldest son, Edward (Bertie).  Prior to this time, Christmas was considered a minor holiday with little ado or fan-fair.

Attendees to this inaugural event can shop the unique vendors for last minute gifts, enjoy live local entertainment, enter our costume contest, get a photo with Santa, raffle drawings, silent auction and more!

We will top off the festivities with a dinner/dance celebration on Saturday night.
